📢Calling All Teens: Join the Teen Volunteer Corps This Summer☀️

Looking for a fun and meaningful way to spend your summer? The Teen Volunteer Corps (TVC) at Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library is the perfect opportunity to build job skills, meet new friends, and make a positive impact in your community. If you’re 13-18 years old, enthusiastic, responsible, and friendly, we’d love for you to join our team!

As a TVC volunteer, you’ll play a HUGE role in the Summer Reading Program by signing readers up, handing out prizes, keeping the library shelves looking neat, and assisting librarians with various projects. This year, you’ll commit to three 3-hour shifts per week (9 hours total) in either June OR July.

Our teen volunteers make a world of difference at the library. Your time and effort help bring the Summer Reading Program to life, and we couldn’t do it without you! In return, you’ll gain valuable experience, develop good work habits, earn volunteer hours for school or college applications, and have an unforgettable summer at the library!

Here’s what some of last year’s volunteers enjoyed about TVC:

“Everyone is so welcoming, accepting, and kind to each other, which makes me feel that even with everything going on, I have something to hold onto, and to be part of the library team means to have a new work family you can communicate with while also contributing to your community.” – Catherine

“It felt good to be a part of the library team. The librarians are very nice and understanding.” – S. W.

“It was a fun experience! I learned a lot of key skills and made friends.” – Khalil

“My favorite moment was probably when I [was] reshelving and just seeing the toddlers [and] remembering I used to be like them, waddling around the library [and] always looking around” – Anonymous

“Through this experience, I was able to grow closer to my community by helping younger kids be encouraged to read and grow.” – J.

“I learned just how much work and effort it takes to keep the library a friendly and clean environment for everyone…Working at the library gave me a great chance to assist the community in a positive way.” – E.

Don’t miss out on this awesome opportunity—apply online by March 31!

We hope to see YOU on our 2026 TVC team!
