Aug 24, 2023 Digital Service of the Month: Scholastic Teachables
Our Digital Library Branch offers dozens of online resources, most accessible 24/7 from anywhere on a mobile device, tablet or laptop. In our Digital Service of the Month feature, we’re highlighting these services to help Library cardholders and visitors learn more about what’s available. For September, we’re featuring Scholastic Teachables, an online collection of educational materials created by teachers in subjects such as math, science, reading comprehension, STEM and writing.
From arts and crafts to puzzles and games, from flash cards to clip art, Scholastic Teachables offers educational resources for caregivers, teachers, homeschooling parents, or anyone who works with children in preschool through grade 8. Search for materials by grade level, subject, theme, type or genre. Then download and print the ones you want. Many of the resources also list Common Core Standards just for teachers.
HMMPL Library Card holders can access this free service by clicking on the Scholastic Teachables link in our Digital Library Branch and entering your Card number. (Visitors to the Library who are logged onto our Wi-Fi network do not need a Library Card to use Scholastic Teachables.) Once you’re logged in, use the search bar at the top of the page to search by keyword or standard. You can also browse the collection by selecting one of the following options from the menu: Topics, Differentiation Collections, Mini-Books, Family Hub and New materials.
Finally, you can review the Scholastic Teachables newsletter archive (linked from their home page) for monthly, seasonal and thematically grouped selections of printable lesson plans, reading passages, games and puzzles, clip art, pocket charts, cut and pastes, bulletin board ideas, skills sheets, and more.
