MEET THE FRIENDS

The Friends of the Library is a group of community members dedicated to raising funds to support the Library. Our Friends raise money for everything from basic supply needs, to special programs. We would not be where we are today without the loyalty and generosity of our Friends! To date, our Friends of the Library have raised more than $600,000 since 1978. These funds have been used to purchase equipment and supplies for the Library including items for two MakerStudios and the Seed Library, purchase books and materials for the collection, provide programming for all ages, present reading programs and prizes throughout the year, as well as purchase helpful items like the circulation baskets! All of their contributions help make our Library such a special place!

Our Friends support the Library by:

Treating our patrons to Kona Ice to kick off Summer Reading

Hosting Book and Bake Sales and silent auctions

Providing funds and supplies for the Seed Library, MakerStudio, and much, much more!

WHAT DO THE FRIENDS DO?

The Friends of the HMMPL support the Library through donations and other significant contributions. Since 1978 the Friends have donated more than $600,000 to purchase basic and special items to make the Library a special destination for all ages!

HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER?

New members are always welcome! The annual dues for an individual are $20 per year. Join or renew now.

HOW CAN I SUPPORT THE FRIENDS THROUGH SHOPPING?

Support the Friends by shopping at Kroger!

WHAT CAN I DONATE?

Everyone can help the Friends through donations of gently used books, books on CD, music CDs, and DVDs. Donations may be dropped off at the Library and placed just inside the staff entrance, Door #4, on the Sixth Street side of the building. You can also use the donation box just inside the main entrance, Door #1, on Fifth Street. Staff at the Circulation Desk in the main lobby, if requested, will issue receipts.

BOOK SALES

Books, Crafts, and Baked Goods

Support the Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library and have fun while doing it! Attend one of our book sales to grow your personal collection and grab some baked goods at the bake sale! Proceeds support the Library. These funds are critical to the continued success of our programs and activities. See the calendar for upcoming dates. Stop by and pick up a new book and a delicious treat.

Individual membership is $15 per year
Family membership is $25 per year
Benefactor membership is $50 per year

Get Involved

Fundraising takes planning! The Friends meet to discuss ways to increase donations and proceeds for the Library. Meetings take place to discuss these activities and other special event planning. Please see the calendar for dates. If you would like to learn more, follow us on Facebook.
