Spreading Cheer to Our Seniors
Make the season bright for seniors in our community by participating in our annual Golden Gifts Donation Drive. Golden Gifts are gifts that will ensure that our seniors without abundant resources are not forgotten this season. This unique program will bring goodness and cheer to those who may feel isolated in our community during the long winter months. This year, we have over 100 seniors to serve.
The Golden Gifts Donation Drive will take place November 11 – December 13. Beginning Monday, November 11, Golden Gifts tables loaded with senior wish lists will be set up near the entrances at each HMMPL Branch. Individuals are invited to select a list of their choice and purchase the wishes for a senior. It is recommended that you spend at least $20 per senior. Gifts must be new and candles are not allowed. Purchased gifts should be returned to either of the branches unwrapped by December 13 with the wish list attached. All wish list names are pseudonyms to maintain the anonymity of our seniors. The Library will load up the Bookmobile and distribute gifts to these deserving seniors.
To participate:
- Visit either branch and stop by a Golden Gifts table beginning November 11.
- Choose a gift tag.
- Take the gift tag to the reference desk to receive the corresponding wish list and leave your contact information.
- Return unwrapped gifts with the tag by December 13 to allow the Library time to distribute the gifts to our local seniors.
If you are unable to fulfill your donation please contact the Library so we can ensure the person’s tag is claimed.
