Introducing Jamia Alexander Ball, HMMPL Whitestown Branch Manager
The Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library (HMMPL) Board of Trustees has hired Jamia Alexander Ball to manage its new branch location to be built in Whitestown. Alexander Ball has an undergraduate degree in Anthropology/Archaeology from the University of Indianapolis, a Master of Arts degree in Museum Studies and a Master of Library Science degree from IUPUI. She stepped into her new role at HMMPL May 3.
Alexander Ball began her career in library services in 2013 at the North Manchester Public Library in North Manchester, Indiana. Since that time, she has held various positions throughout libraries in Indiana and Kentucky, most recently serving as assistant branch manager for the Southwest Regional Library in Louisville.
“I’m really excited to be a part of the growth and expansion that is happening at HMMPL,” said Alexander Ball. “I was eager to come on board and join the planning process for the new branch. I’m looking forward to continuing to work with this great community to create the library it desires.”
HMMPL announced its plans to build a new branch in Whitestown in fall of 2020. Construction is expected to begin sometime later this year.
