Reading with Toddlers

Reading with Toddlers

Does reading with your toddler leave you feeling a little topsy turvy?  No worries!  Sometimes reading looks a little different when you’re a toddler! Perhaps the book is upside down while reading like this little gal in the picture.  Maybe you talk about the pictures instead of reading the exact words on the page.  Possibly you skip pages or go from end to beginning.  In some cases, your toddler may only want to sit still for a few minutes at a time to read or only she can turn the pages all by herself.  Maybe you read the same book over and over and over and over again!   There are no rules that you have to follow!  The important thing is to create a happy and positive experience between you, your child and books at a young age.  Make reading with your young one part of your daily routine together!  -Miss Julie
