Partnering with the Indiana Arts Commission and FSSA Division on aging, HMMPL is excited to offer Rhythm of Life – Creative Aging Drumming Program facilitated by local Indianapolis artist Elijah Stephen.

The program will consist of a six session series where participants will delve into the world of percussion, drumming, and drum circles, with the goal of making connections and developing a new artistic skill. Whether you’re a seasoned percussionist or completely new to drumming, this program promises to be a fun and educational journey.

Learning Goals

Participants will:
● Develop basic drumming techniques and rhythms.
● Explore various drumming styles and traditions from around the world.
● Collaborate in a group setting to create music collectively.
● Build social connections and a sense of community through shared artistic experiences.
● Celebrate their accomplishments and creativity in a culminating drum circle event.
