Get to know the HMMPL staff! Each week, we’re featuring one of our amazing staff members. This week, meet Virginia Hilbert! She is the Marketing Director for HMMPL. Here are a few fun facts about her!
Hobbies: I recently told a friend that I’m not artistic but I enjoy crafts. My mom is a talented seamstress so she taught me to sew at an early age and I still enjoy it. I also like to knit, create paper crafts, read – of course, and write.
Favorite Book Genre: I love to browse craft books for ideas and inspiration. I also like a good cozy mystery!
Years at HMMPL: 15 years
Favorite part of working at the Library: Hearing stories about how the library has positively impacted patrons is my favorite part of working at the library. When I was a young mom, I met one of my closest friends during a library storytime event for babies. Now, it just makes me smile to hear about other friendships that have formed within our walls.
Favorite Snack: Popcorn and ice cream – separately and together!
Where will patrons find you at the Library: I spend a lot of time in the Marketing Department on the third floor, but I love walking around the Library and running into patrons, many I’ve known for several years, and hearing about their favorite new title or how they are enjoying the library.
