Small Horrors: A Collection of Fifty Creepy Stories by Darcy Coates

Small Horrors: A Collection of Fifty Creepy Stories is an anthology of creepy and terrifying tales, each about 6-7 pages long. Some tales are clearly supernatural, while others leave you guessing if what lurks in the darkness is human or something not of this world. All of the stories have twist endings that leave your heart pounding and your eyes glancing around your space.

It was almost impossible to put down. As someone who consumes a fair amount of horror, I thought I had read it all. I’m usually on track when it comes to guessing an ending to a story, but boy this book sent me whirling. Every time I thought I knew what was going to happen, Darcy would blast off in an unsuspected direction! I was thrilled; I was frightened. I couldn’t believe what a treat her tales were.

If you love horror or short stories, this is for you. If you enjoy the twist endings of The Twilight Zone episodes, these stories are right up your alley. The tales are not overly gory or too abstract. I would recommend this book to teens or adults, just because most of the characters are adults. Get Small Horrors as an eBook or get a copy through Evergreen.
