Mar 11, 2025 Why the stories of refugees are so important.
Join us on March 18 from 6 – 7:30 PM at the Zionsville Branch, Hussey Room for the program Refugee 101 – When Refugees Build a New Life in Indiana
With new administrations come new changes. Join a representative from Exodus Refugee Immigration Inc. and learn how new rules are affecting refugees right here in Indiana. Have you ever wondered what the process was to immigrate to the United States? What about, what happens when new people arrive here?
Exodus has a long history of welcoming refugees and asylum seekers from many countries, cultures, languages, faiths, and political opinions. They began in 1981 with the mission to serve the legal needs of immigrants and Cuban refugees, who had arrived as part of the Mariel boatlift in 1980. Since that time, Exodus has helped thousands of refugees from more than 50 different countries establish new lives in Indiana.
In FY2024 Exodus welcomed 884 new refugees representing 18 different countries, while providing ongoing services to refugees who already call Indiana home.
