Little Bookworm Chronicles: Sing, Sing, Sing!

Little Bookworm Chronicles: Sing, Sing, Sing!

Sing Sing Sing!
If you have ever been to an HMMPL storytime or Romp and Stomp, you already know that singing is a huge part of these programs. And with good reason!  There are so many educational benefits that come from singing with young children.  Singing plays a valuable part in getting kiddos ready to read.  You will probably see singing mentioned in this blog quite often!  I am sure there are plenty of caregivers that want to sing with their young child yet are unsure of what and how to sing to them.  There is no need to feel bad about this because almost everyone is in the same boat when they first start singing with their child. The best thing to do when singing with your child is to HAVE FUN! If your child is having fun, that means they will want to sing with you over and over again.
Here’s Miss Alicia singing a fun storytime song you can try at home!

Need more or new songs to add to your repertoire? We’ve got you!  We asked the children’s librarians at both branches to share a couple of their favorite songs to sing in storytime and compiled them, complete with lyrics, for you!

Enjoy and keep singing!
