We’re thrilled to share some exciting news that’ll have you stepping back in time and exploring a piece of Indiana history. The Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library has just added another museum pass to its shelves, this one with vast Indiana historical significance. HMMPL card holders can now check out passes to the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site.
Why Visit the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site?
Harrison served as the nation’s 23rd President from 1889-1893 and is the only President from Indiana. This home is more than just a house—it’s a journey through the life and times of this Hoosier President. Now, your Library Card gives you free access to walk where he walked and see where he lived!
Cardholders can use the pass to reserve a time slot to tour the home, which consists of three floors and 16 rooms, with each detail picked out by Harrison and his wife Caroline.
The pass allows two adults and up to four children or grandchildren under the age of 18 to view the site at no charge. You can plan your visit through the museum’s website.
Where Can You Get a Pass?
Passes are available for check out at each of our branches. Simply drop by the Public Services Desk at the Whitestown Branch or the Youth Services Reference Desk at the Zionsville Branch to borrow one. Our staff is ready to help you start your historical adventure!
