The Whitestown Branch welcome desk is in place and we are thrilled to officially invite you inside on Saturday, March 16th for our ribbon-cutting and grand opening celebration!
The much-anticipated opening of the branch will be the public’s first opportunity to see, explore and use the new building at 6310 E. Albert S. White Drive, Whitestown. The community is invited to join the celebration and enjoy guided building tours, technology demonstrations, fun activities, and a Teddy Bear Symphony Concert presented by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and funded by the Friends of the Library.
“This is a momentous occasion for our communities, and we are thrilled to open the doors at the Whitestown Branch,” said HMMPL Executive Director Kristin Shelley. “Public libraries positively impact residents for generations, and I look forward to seeing the residents of Whitestown and Zionsville discover the uniqueness of this new, second location.”
We now have in place desks, cabinets, furniture and shelves to house all of the wonderful library materials that will be available to the community! More than 50,000 titles have been purchased for the Branch’s collection of new books, videos, audiobooks, magazines and more. A matching grant from the Community Foundation of Boone County combined with the generosity of the public and the Friends of the Library funded three special collections for the branch, electronic read-along books, educational nature books, and Pea Pod Packs of board books. Grand opening attendees will be the first to have access to these materials and may start checking them out once the doors open, March 16.
Ribbon cutting is scheduled for 10am on March 16!
