Wonderbooks: not just for kids

The library houses many read-aloud books.  They are physical books with a ready-to-play audiobook inside.  Although they are great resources for children learning to read, or with reading difficulty, they have another surprising benefit.  Adults adjusting to hearing aids, or cochlear implants can really benefit from using these books as a form of auditory training therapy. Using them can exercise the linguistic areas of the brain that are crucial for comprehension.  The simpler books allow adults to focus on truly listening to the book and matching it to the text on the pages thus building those linguistic muscles.

We also have read-along books in the following languages: Chinese, French, Hebrew, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, Arab, German, Ukrainian, Vietnamese, Tagalog, and Urdu.
