Diaper Drive @ the Library, September 27 – October 16

National Diaper Need Awareness Week is September 27 – October 3, 2021 and the Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library is again teaming up with the Indiana Diaper Bank to collect diapers and diapering supplies for families in need.  Our Fall Diaper Drive will run Monday, September 27 through Saturday, October 16.

One in three families do not have enough clean diapers for their children.  In our first Diaper Drive last May, we collected just over 2,500 diapers and at least 500 diapering supplies in one week. Our goal for this drive is to collect 3,000 diapers, plus at least 500 diapering supply items.  The greatest need is for pull-ups, sizes 4, 5 & 6, and wipes, but any and all donations are accepted.   In fact, the need for wipes is huge at the moment, so the Indiana Diaper Bank is really pushing a “WIPEOUT DIAPER NEED” campaign right now to emphasize the need for wipes!  Drop off disposal diapers [unopened or opened], clean cloth diapers [new or used], wipes, and diaper rash creams at the Library at the tables just inside the two main public entrances on both the 5th and 6th Street sides of the building.  Let’s  #EndDiaperNeed and help out families in central Indiana who need diapers to properly and safely care for their children’s needs!
