Staff Introductions: Susie Pelis, Circulation Department

Get to know the HMMPL staff! Each week, we’re featuring one of our amazing staff members. This week, meet Susie Pelis!  She works in the Circulation Department at the Zionsville Branch. Here are a few fun facts about her!

Hobbies:  Most of my hobbies are of a creative nature involving cooking, baking, sewing, painting and creating a healthier version of old family recipes. I also enjoy small ship cruising and backyard birdwatching!

Favorite Book Genre:  Mystery and Historical Fiction

Favorite Movie/Music/Video Game:

Music: I love listening to Soft Rock

Movies: The original Mama Mia movie (and theme song!)

Years at HMMPL: 20 years, 4 months, and counting!

Favorite part of working at the Library:  I love books! Reading books! Working around and with books! And the fact that the library offers so many free resources to everyone! I love the orderliness of working in a library, but most of all I love handing that new first library card to the excited child who can’t wait to check out their first book!

Favorite Snack: Salt and vinegar chips for those salty cravings and a Caramel Macchiato for my sweet tooth! If I had a middle name it would be “chocolate”!

Where will patrons find you at the Library: You’ll find me working at either the 1st or 2nd floor Public Services Desk helping both children and adults, which gives me the best of both worlds!
