Summer Reading Club Activity: Community Puzzle Paths!
If you need a great reason to get outside and explore, then this is your chance. Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library invites you to join our Summer Reading Program this year and take part in all of our fun activities! This year, we have added a new way for you and your family to earn points, have fun, explore your local communities and stay safe through the pandemic.
The Community Puzzle Paths give you a chance to go exploring in your local communities of Zionsville and Whitestown for clues! Each of the paths has 3 clues that will lead you to a codeword to enter for points towards tickets! These paths will be up all summer long.
All four paths are detailed below. They go with our 2021 theme of “Tales and Tails” too! If you find yourself out and about looking for our clues and need a hint, give us a call at (317) 873-8341 during Library hours and a Teen and Adult Services Librarian will be happy to assist you! To get signed up for Summer Reading so you can join the fun, visit our Beanstack site and create an account to get started!
The Zionsville “Tails” Path goes throughout Creekside Corporate Park. Start at the Zionsville Community Wildlife Habitat sign by the bridge on Zionsville Road, which is diagonally across from Bub’s Burgers. Then wind your way down the path to find the other two clues!
The Whitestown “Tails” Path follows a curved path up the large hill in Whitestown Main Street Park. The last clue is at the top where you can see everything from up high!
The Zionsville “Tales” Path clues are all located in windows of local businesses. The first one begins at Black Dog Books. To find it on the side of the building, enter through the wrought-iron fence and find the window to their Children’s area. Then keep walking to The Scoop Ice Cream Shop and Bub’s Burgers!
The Whitestown “Tales” Path clues are also located in windows of local businesses on the main street of Whitestown. The first clue is in the front door of Eboom Bikes. From there, walk next door to L.A. Cafe and Friendly Market store!
Feel free to go in and explore these wonderful local businesses! HMMPL would like to thank all six businesses for partnering with us on the “Tales” paths. We would also like to thank the Zionsville Nature Center and Parks Department for partnering with us on the “Tails” paths.
