Darshana: A Glimpse into the Hindu Civilization Exhibition

The Library, in partnership with the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh USA group and the Zionsville School Corporation, presents Darshana: A Glimpse into the Hindu Civilization.  This exhibition presents a colorful overview of Hindu culture, concepts and practices, and features information on a variety of topics, ranging from yoga and divinity to mathematics and administration. Over the course of 3 weeks in May, posters and artifacts will be on display on both floors of the Library for public browsing.  Along with the display, a series of immersive learning events including yoga, dance, meditation, teacher appreciation and more will be offered to the community as well!  All are welcome to join!

Schedule of Events

Mon., May 9: Exhibition Opens – posters and artifacts available for viewing throughout the duration of the exhibition

Tues., May 10 @ 6 – 7PM: Breathing Techniques & Meditation Session

Sat., May 14 @ 2 – 4PM: Indian classical dance and music performances with snacks & refreshments served

Tues., May 17 @ 6 – 7PM: Yoga Session

Weds., May 18 @ 6 – 7PM: Yoga – Surya Namaskars (Sun Salutation) Session

Thurs., May 19 @ 6 – 7PM: Watch and learn Garbha (Indian folk dance)

Sat., May 21 @ 2 – 4PM: Guru Vandana (Teacher appreciation ceremony)

Weds., May 25 @ 6 – 7PM: Yoga/Meditation Session

Fri., May 27: Exhibition concludes
