Seed Library Update

Seed Library Update

The HMMPL Seed Library has been a HUGE hit this season!  Patrons are sewing seeds all over the community in their container gardens, raised garden beds, in-ground beds, window boxes… you name it!

The Seed Library opened April 1 and since that date, more than 16,000 seed packets have been distributed! 11,000+ seed packets were distributed in April and then in May, patrons picked up over 5300 more!  In April alone, more seed packets were distributed than we handed out during the entirety of last year’s Seed Library season! WOW!

The most popular seed varieties taken to date are:

Cherry red tomatoes (755 packets)

Genovese basil (552 packets)

Mixed black oil sunflowers (451 packets)

Tokyo Long White Bunching Onion (428 packets)

We want to see what HMMPL seeds YOU are growing in your garden!  Show us your seedling or garden progress photos by sharing them via email at marketing@hmmpl.org!
