Our Expansion Plan

Our Expansion Plan

Offering Library Service to Worth Township

Please review our Library’s full expansion proposal which was publicly shared with Worth Township residents and their Advisory Board July 14.  The Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library staff and board are excited about this opportunity to offer service to the full community. The Board and residents may now consider both library expansion proposals: Hussey-Mayfield’s and Lebanon’s.

The Full Proposal

Our proposal offers service to both Worth and Perry Townships. Why? Because one of our defining goals is to remove barriers to Library service and to position the Library as a role model of growth and inclusion in our community.  Extending our services to the previously unserved townships of both Worth and Perry will connect more people to Library services than ever before.

At HMMPL, our mission is to service and we are committed to reaching beyond the traditional walls of the Library to provide service that connects and inspires communities.

Branch timeline

How quickly can this happen? A Worth Township branch could be open to the public as soon as late 2021. The building process can be as quick or as deliberate as the Worth Township and Boone County entities feel is necessary. The timing will depend on several factors, including the approval process, feedback, and construction needs.

Share your thoughts

We encourage interested residents to review this full proposal and share your thoughts and opinions with your friends, neighbors, and community representatives in Worth Township and our Library administration.

The Worth Township Advisory Board has planned a follow-up meeting Tuesday, July 21 at 6:30 PM at the Whitestown Lions Club Park shelter at 107 N. Main St., Whitestown. The Board will consider and possibly vote on the proposals submitted by Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library and Lebanon Public Library to extend service to the Township.
