Get to know the HMMPL staff! Each week, we’re featuring one of our amazing staff members. This week, meet Lauren Kniola, a Librarian in the Outreach Services Department. Here are a few fun facts about her.
Hobbies: Cooking, hiking, board games and puzzles, reading books! (of course), pickleball, traveling, playing with our dog, Ruby, sewing, theater and gardening. You name an activity, and I am in!
Favorite Book Genre: Mysteries. And I love reading children’s books as much as adult books.
Favorite Movie/Song/Video Game: Right now I’m hooked on the Cormoran Strike detective tv series based off of the adult books by Robert Galbraith (pen name for JR Rowlings’ adult books).
Years at HMMPL: Over a year and a half. I started working here at the beginning of 2022
Favorite part of working at the Library: In the Outreach department, I am so lucky because I get to work with the students at the schools to teach them about all the digital resources they can access with their digital library card. I also really enjoy going to the Assisted Living communities for library days and storytime in memory care. Oh yes, and I love driving the bookmobile (!) and meeting patrons at all the outreach events.
Favorite Snack: Chocolate!
Where will patrons find you at the Library: You will rarely find me IN the library because I am out on the bookmobile or in the schools, teaching about student digital resources.
